Rug Stain Removal Guide

You know, the kids, the dog, that clumsy party guest…accidents do happen and how you respond to them is the crucial key to successful Oriental and area rug maintenance. As soon as you are aware of anything that has dropped on or spilled on your rug, your quick and proper response will save the day…and of course your beautiful rug!

When those pesky accidents happen, follow the steps below.

1. Always blot up liquids with a white paper towels or an absorbent cloth &
   scoop up solids with a knife or spoon.
2. Treat the spot according to the cleaning procedures or your stain below. (choose your stain and click it)
3. Apply a spot removal cleaning agent to clean towel or cloth, do not put directly on the spot. Use sparingly. Make sure to work inward from the edge so it doesn’t spread and do NOT rub…that causes spreading and messes up your pile. And always remember to not over-wet the rug pile.
4. Then, blot your rug as dry as possible with a new clean towel.
